Are you ready for IORT?
IORT, Intraoperative Radiation Therapy, is a type of radiation therapy in which radiation is delivered at the time of surgery. In breast IORT, the entire dose of radiation may be delivered during a single, intraoperative fraction. A typical IORT treatment can be delivered in as little as 8 minutes, compared to the seven-week course of external beam therapy.
The Xoft® Electronic Brachytherapy System® brings multiple applications together in one flexible, isotope-free platform:

All Axxent treatments must be performed with a thorough knowledge of radiation physics, proper planning, dosimetric calculations and knowledge of radio-biological effectiveness; therefore, we require that a radiation therapist/oncologist administer the use of Axxent systems. We do not support the use of Axxent systems by anyone other than radiation professionals (trained and certified). We rigorously enforce this, as patient safety and efficacy is pre-eminent to us.
